Can You Put Weed Killer and Insect Killer Together?

In many cases, you can apply weed killer and insect killer at the same time in one space. However, whether they can be mixed together in the same sprayer depends on the specific products.

You should always read the labels carefully, as some herbicides and insecticides aren’t compatible. They may lose effectiveness or even damage your plants when combined.

If both of the labels allow tank mixing, then test a small amount first to check for:

  • Clumping
  • Separation
  • Other reactions

Keep in mind that weed killers and insect killers often work best under different conditions. For example, some weed killers need several hours without rain, while certain insecticides may have different application timing recommendations.

If you’re ever in doubt, just apply the products separately according to their label directions. This helps ensure maximum effectiveness and reduces the risk of harming plants and beneficial insects.

Always wear the recommended protective equipment during application.
